Getting Started with Infertility

The first step in overcoming infertility is a correct diagnosis. Once the cause of the problem has been determined, an appropriate treatment plan can be recommended.

Under the medical direction of Dr. Randy Corfman, Oakdale Obstetrics and Gynecology, P.A. strives to make the process of initiating infertility treatment as simple and stress-free as possible. Before your first appointment, you will need to complete a few new patient forms. During your initial consultation, the doctor will review your history, answer any questions you may have, and form a preliminary plan for testing, diagnosis, and treatment.

Dr. Randall Corfman is a Reproductive Endocrinologist who is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is now taking appointments and providing service for Oakdale OBGYN.  Dr. Corfman has extensive experience in all aspects of Reproductive Endocrinology, Infertility and Assisted Reproductive Technologies. He has been recognized throughout his career with many academic achievements and endorsements from his peers.

Your First Infertility Visit

The first step toward your path to parenthood is an initial consultation. While it may seem daunting to seek medical treatment or a consultation, many patients feel empowered after this consultation. You and your spouse/partner will leave with many of your questions answered and a proposed treatment plan for your particular diagnosis.

During this consult, we will review your medical records which will include a thorough evaluation of you and your partner’s history, test results, and fertility treatment you may have undergone. We may also recommend that you undergo additional tests in order to pinpoint an accurate diagnosis.

You may be relieved to know that many patients can be treated successfully without the need for in vitro fertilization. If that need should arise, feel comfortable in knowing that Oakdale Obstetrics and Gynecology P.A. works with the Midwest Center for Reproductive Health P.A., which has success rates which rank amongst the highest in the country.
