Oakdale OBGYN receives FPA Grant to improve clinical quality and efficiency

In July of 2010 Oakdale OBGYN was one of 15 clinics in the metro area that was awarded a grant from Fairview Physician Associates (FPA). The grant was awarded to increase breast feeding of newborns through education of the mothers. FPA awarded the grants to improve clinical quality and efficiency and to support patient care innovation, as well as the patient experience.
Oakdale OBGYN is proud to offer a Board Certified Lactation Counselor Kelly Ihry C.N.P. She is an invaluable asset to breast feeding mothers by reassuring them when breast feeding is going well, and she provides information and support to help prevent and manage common breast feeding concerns. As a lactation counselor Kelly Ihry C.N.P. can assist with educating patients on the risk factors that may affect breast feeding, basic position of the infant, preventing and managing common patient concerns regarding breast feeding, storage of milk, breast and nipple pain and care, latch of the infant, how to continue breast feeding when mother return to work, and instructions for challenging situations.
