Service Pricing Transparency

The State of Minnesota requires our practice to post provider charges for common services, and the average payments or reimbursements received for those services from government and commercial insurance. Download that information here [PDF].

There are many types of insurance health plans, each with rules and regulations specific to the plan. As your healthcare provider, Oakdale ObGyn must follow those regulations in how we report services provided to you. With the great complexity of health care insurance coverage, we rely on you to be aware of your health insurance coverage and policy.

We file claims to all insurance companies. However, if Oakdale ObGyn is not contracted with that insurance, you are responsible for any unpaid balance that is considered out of network.

Some of the insurance companies and payers with whom we are contracted include:

  • Aetna
  • Araz/America’s PPO
  • Blue Cross Blue Shield
  • Cigna
  • HealthPartners
  • Medica
  • Medicare
  • Medical Assistance
  • PreferredOne
  • Select Care / UnitedHealthcare
  • TRICARE West UHC Military/Veterans
  • UCare

Co-payments and Deductibles

Co-pays and deductibles are always determined by your insurance plan.

Many insurance plans may not pay for procedures or visits that are recommended or ordered by your healthcare provider. On occasion, a provider may recommend treatment by another provider outside of our clinic. If your health insurance plan requires a referral, please be aware that, since our clinic is not considered a primary care clinic, but a specialty clinic, we are unable to provide a medical referral. Only your primary care clinic can provide medical referrals. Please be sure that you are familiar with what your insurance plan does and does not cover and when referrals are required. If referrals are required, always secure your referral prior to scheduling specialty procedures. This will prevent any unexpected delays in payment or denial of services.

Coding for Services

All healthcare providers bill services using billing codes. These codes tell the insurance company what was done and why. Routine and preventive services cause confusion for many patients. It is not uncommon for patients in the course of a visit to receive both treatment for a problem and a preventive service. When this occurs, we are required to charge for both services.

Lab Services

The majority of our lab services are processed and billed by a reference lab. The reference labs used are not owned by Oakdale ObGyn. Therefore, for all lab tests sent to our reference lab, and for all pathology/cytology tests, you will receive a separate bill for lab services from the reference lab.

Missed Appointment Charge

If you are unable to keep your scheduled appointment, please call to inform us prior to the visit at 763-587-7000. We request notification as soon as you know that you will not be able to keep the appointment so that we can open that reserved time for other patients in need.
